What should you bring to uni?!

Posted 13th September 2017

A bedroom with a grey carpet, light coloured wooden wardrobe, with a black fireplace in the center of the room. The bed is a double bed with grey and white bedding. There is a desk in the corner with a lit desk lamp, just to the left of a large square window facing the bed. The room is well decorated with frames on the wall and small house plants on the window sill.

Trust me. I was a student:

1. Deck of cards – perfect for pre-drinks
2. Fairy lights – every room needs a twinkle
3. Pint glasses – you can never have enough
4. Clothes drying rack – to save your room from becoming even smellier
5. Door stop – encourages socialising and will help you from not getting locked out of your friends’ flats
6. Blanket – for those rainy days
7. Photos of family
8. A diary – an item people regret not taking
9. Drawing pins for the noticeboard
10. Cards Against Humanity – always a bit of banter
11. Shot glasses – say no more
12. Dumbbells – to help lose that ‘Freshers’ Fifteen’ weight gain
13. Cleaning products – add them to your parents’ bill
14. A hot water bottle – your heating is likely to break (unless you live in an Edge property!)
15. Some beers and food to share when you arrive – sharing is caring after all
16. A small suitcase – great for weekends away
17. Sleeping bag – for when your friends from home finally visit
18. Ear Plugs – for those rare moments when you need an undisturbed night’s sleep
19. Paracetamol – freshers’ flu is just around the corner
20. Fancy dress and school tie – cheesy nights out are great
21. A printer – save you some dollar
22. Bottle opener – to crack open the beers
23. Dressing gown – this item will become your second skin
24. A waterproof coat – it rains 99% of the time in Huddersfield!
25. Portable speakers – everyone likes a boogie
26. As much pasta as you can fit in your boot – this will become your staple diet
27. A few DVDs – for those lonely nights
28. Spare electrical chargers – your flat mates will steal things
29. Colourful kitchenware – again, your flat mates will steal things
30. Calender – to keep on top of your new life as a social butterfly

Have a great start to the new Uni year!
